Short intro

Major Parkinson from Norway is a particle collider of huge, cinematic melodies, catchy pop hooks, impossible rhythms and psychedelic lyrics. A distinctly different band, with an unconventional, associative and almost irrational approach to the art of writing music.

Their music can be described as a mixture of pop sensibility with various forms of rock – from hardcore to progressive rock. While listening to their music, one can hear influences from Tom Waits, Procol Harum, Jethro Tull, Kansas, System of a Down, Kaizers Orchestra, among others.

Major Parkinson @ ProgPower Europe

The band played ProgPower Europe in 2018. Avenoctum webzine said “It was frantic and infectious. It was also sheer lunacy and riotous but totally brilliant as entertainment. It’s theatre, it’s vaudeville, breathless and living in the here and now but musically it’s also very sophisticated.”

"Splashing about in their very own, near-overflowing bubble of progressive rock, avant-garde pop, dark humor and theatre, some claim Major Parkinson to be Norwegian music’s best kept secret. Yet, to their loyal and growing fanbase, they certainly are no secret.”
