Saturday 28 august 1971 is a historic day. Some young guys and girls ‘claim’ the basement of ‘Het Patronaat’ in Baarlo. SJiwa Baarlo is born and will be the meetingplace for the youth of Baarlo.
The 10th anniversary was celebrated by an open air festival at sports park De Berckt. With headliners Kansas and Foreigner.

One other highlight in the history of Sjiwa was the 25th anniversary. This special moment was celebrated with an own Sjiwa-beer: JUBILE.

With a long history of over 50 years, Sjiwa is part of Baarlo. No matter what age you are, everyone is welcome!
At ProgPower we have the main venue for all performances by the bands. In the venue there is a merchandise stand, with merchandise from all the bands and ProgPower. In the basement we have 2 area’s. The first one is to relax, play table soccer / darts / beerpong and have some good chats with each other. At the second basement area you will find a CD-market by our partner Metal Mailorder.
